Tap water on the Sunshine Coast is fresh and safe to drink.
Once you’re here, you can exchange your currency in many places, including at the airport when you arrive. The Sunshine Coast only has a couple of foreign exchange shops across the townships, so try to cash your traveller’s cheques at the airport, as banks will charge you. Please note that Twin Waters is a 13 minute drive from Maroochydore.
If you’d like to visit a bank, you will need to visit Marychydore. See below for a list of banks:

All the above banks have automatic tellers (ATMs) that will take any international cards and nearly all international networks such as Cirrus, Plus, STAR international ATM mark, Interlink or Maestro POS mark. Travellers should contact their bank at home for information on availability and service charges. The most commonly accepted credit cards in Australia are American Express, Bankcard, Carte Blanche, Diners Club, MasterCard, Visa and BarclayCard.
ATMs usually dispense money in two lot’s, so please double check for money before leaving the machine.
Use ATMs that are affiliated with your home bank it will save you a few dollars every transaction.

During the Symposium
The dress code throughout the day is smart casual. The dress code for the Welcome Reception and Symposium Dinner is also Smart Casual.
The registration desk will be clearly marked. More information on the location of the desk will be confirmed closer to the event. Please direct any questions you may have regarding registration, session attendance or other elements of the symposium to Leishman Associates staff at this desk.

Delegates and exhibitors will be provided with an individual name badge, which will give you access to all sessions and social events that you have registered to attend. This must be worn at all times within the symposium venue.
An electronic copy of the handbook will be available for download from the website and emailed to you closer to the symposium date. There will not be a printed copy available. An Event App will be available to download for iOS and Android through the App Stores.
In the lead-up to the symposium, small updates will be made to the program. See the latest version on the website and in the symposium App. Any changes to the symposium program during the symposium will be announced during housekeeping notices each morning. You may also check with Leishman Associates staff at the registration desk.
Delegates are not permitted to use any type of camera or recording device at any of the sessions unless written permission has been obtained from the relevant speaker. A professional photographer will be at the symposium, if you have any issues with being photographed please notify the photographer or Leishman Associates staff.
The members of the Symposium Organising Committee and Leishman Associates accept no liability for personal accident of loss or damage suffered by any participant, accompanying person, invited observer or any other person by whatever means. Nor do we accept liability for any equipment or software brought to the symposium by delegates, speakers, sponsors or any other party. Please protect your personal property. Do not leave laptops, cameras, and other valuable items unsecured. Be conscious of individuals who appear out of place and do not wear a symposium name badge. Advise Leishman Associates staff if this does not occur.
The RACI will not tolerate harassment of symposium participants in any form. Symposium participants violating the RACI Anti-Harassment Policy may be sanctioned or expelled from the symposium without a refund at the discretion of the symposium organisers.

Registration & Social Functions
Full Registration
Full Registration includes attendance at all sessions during the days of 10-13 November 2019. Full Registration also includes name badge, lunch, morning and afternoon refreshments and entry to the Welcome Reception and Poster Session. A ticket to the Symposium Dinner can be purchased for an additional cost.
Day Registration
Day Registration includes attendance at sessions on the nominated day of attendance, name badge, lunch, morning and afternoon refreshments on the day of attendance and a ticket to the poster session if you are registered on that day. Day Registration does not include tickets to the Welcome Reception or Symposium Dinner. Tickets to the social functions must be purchased separately at an additional cost.
You must advise the Symposium Managers of any special dietary requirements when you register for the symposium. Caterers at each function will be informed of these. During the day there will be a buffet table offering food suitable for dietary requirements. If you are unsure, please don’t hesitate to ask staff at the registration desk.
IMPORTANT– If your dietary request relates to a life threatening allergy, please ensure that you advise the organisers as soon as possible.
After registering for the symposium you would have been emailed a Registration Confirmation which lists all social functions for which you are registered. If you require another copy please email brittany@leishman-associates.com.au. Tickets to the Welcome Reception are included in each Full Registration however booking a ticket is essential. Tickets to the Symposium Dinner aren’t included in any registration. Additional tickets for social functions can be purchased in advance through the online form and at the registration desk (subject to availability).

Yes, you most certainly can – additional tickets can be booked when you registered online, or through the Leishman Associates office. Please email your request to brittany@leishman-associates.com.au if you have already registered. During the symposium, bookings can be made at the registration desk, subject to availability.
Speaker, Chairperson or Poster Presenter
Chairpersons will receive an email prior to the symposium, reminding them of their responsibilities. If you are a chairperson and do not receive this, or have additional questions, please contact Brittany Lee at Leishman Associates (03 6234 7844).
Please bring your PowerPoint presentation with you when you register. All speakers should present themselves to the Speakers Preparation Room, at least four hours prior to their scheduled presentation time, to upload their presentation. Speakers are also requested to assemble in their session room 5 minutes before the commencement of the session if possible, to meet with their session chair and to familiarise themselves with the room and the audio visual equipment. A technician will be present in the room at all times. There will be facility to test and modify your presentation if required within the Speakers Preparation Room.
All authors are asked to be alongside their poster during their poster session. The Poster Session is marketed as an opportunity for delegates to approach the author of the poster and ask questions or discuss any element of the information displayed.
Posters must be no larger than A0 (1189mm high x 841mm wide) portrait. We encourage presenters to provide their own Velcro ‘hooks’ to display the posters. Presenters must bring their poster with them to the symposium and advise Leishman Associates staff at the registration desk when they arrive.
Accommodation
You can book your accommodation through the online registration form or by emailing Brittany Lee to obtain an auto-login token to book your accommodation after you have registered. You will be asked to provide your check-in and check-out date as well as your credit card details to secure the booking. A fee equivalent to the first night of your stay will be taken at 30/45 days prior to your check-in by the hotel. The remaining sum will be due upon your arrival at the hotel. Delegates are encouraged to book in advance as availability closer to the symposium date is not guaranteed.
When you book your accommodation your credit card details will be transferred to the hotel you have selected – please confirm this on check-in with your hotel. Your credit card will not be charged until 30/45 days prior to your check-in at the hotel. The remaining sum will be due upon your arrival at the hotel. If the credit card you intend on using to pay for the accommodation does not belong to you, the hotel will require an authority form to be signed. Please obtain this form from this page.
Please email Brittany Lee to cancel or change your accommodation prior to the symposium (at least 30 days prior to your arrival date to avoid additional fees). If you need to cancel your accommodation booking within 30 days of your arrival date any cancellation fees will be subject to the hotel cancellation policy. Therefore, no accommodation refund can be guaranteed within 30 business days of the symposium. If you alter your accommodation booking after you have checked in, please deal directly with the hotel. If you arrive 24 hours later than your indicated arrival day, charges will apply.
Cancellation and Disclaimer
Cancellations must be received in writing – mail, email – to Leishman Associates. Cancellations will not be deemed to be received until you have written confirmation from Leishman Associates. If you have not received acknowledgement within two business days, please contact Leishman Associates on (03) 6234 7844.
Cancellations postmarked on or before, 1 month before the symposium, will incur a fee of 50% of the registration amount. No refunds will be made for cancellations for the symposium postmarked after 1 month before the symposium, however substitutions may be accepted.
37APS reserves the right to amend or alter any advertised details relating to dates, program and speakers if necessary, without notice, as a result of circumstances beyond their control. All attempts have been made to keep any changes to an absolute minimum.
